    Screenwriter and producer Scott Frank ('82) and Riverside (Calif.) newspaper publisher and journalist Marcia Knopf McQuern ('64) will receive the UCSB Alumni Association's Distinguished Alumni Awards on Saturday, June 1, at 6:30 p.m. in Corwin Pavilion.
    They will be joined at the $50-a-plate banquet and ceremony by five others the association plans to honor as well as family, friends, and fellow alumni. The association said it welcomes all faculty and staff. Details are available by calling x2957.
    Other recipients are facilities executive Ray Ward ('59 and M.A. '63), who will be presented the Lifetime Achievement Award; environmental studies lecturer Paul Wack, Teaching Award; reunion volunteers Lois Vedder Goodall ('48) and Frank Goodall ('52); and Honorary Alumni James Keenan, president of a Goleta telephone products firm.
