  • Hwy. 217 Signals Again on Agenda

Signal lights on state Highway 217 are again under consideration, according to Harry Nelson, co-chair of UCSB's Hwy. 217 Review Committee.
Though CalTrans-supervised stakeholder workshops last year reached a consensus that excluded signals (93106's March 4, 2002 issue), the idea has been revived by the Goleta Old Town group that this fall will recommend development options to the Goleta City Council. The new City of Goleta is responsible for selecting options to be included in the project's Environmental Impact Report.
