Today's New Student Convocation will be the third in the annual series located on the Faculty Club Green, by the Campus Lagoon. The campus welcome of new students, featuring faculty keynote speaker Randolph Bergstrom, associate professor of history, will begin at 3 p.m. and be over in an hour.
Following the ceremony, some 40 faculty and staff members will conduct wide-ranging discussions with the newcomers between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. in various locations. Any student living in university housing should ask his or her residence assistant for directions; the UCen Harbor Room has been set aside for freshmen not living in the residence halls.
For more details, contact Associate Dean of Students Debbie Fleming (x4094), or go to <www.ucsb.edu>.
