  • United Way Brings Back Browniegrams

Browniegrams will again be part of UCSB's United Way campaign, which begins today and runs until Feb. 14.
Department representatives have until Feb. 5 to turn in orders, but a table in the Arbor plaza area will sell Browniegrams at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 14 for last-minute Valentine shoppers.
The main fund-raising effort, however, continues to be the donations and pledges solicited through campus offices and departments. Last year, UCSB employees contributed $95,750, a modest increase from the previous year.
"Our goal, as always, is to increase participation," said Assistant Vice Chancellor David Gonzales, campus campaign co-chair with Cathi Arnold, management services officer for biological sciences. He noted that the average amount donated the past two years has risen, but the number of donors has not.
"Please get involved and stay involved" with the United Way Campus Campaign, he said.
