These lean pedaling machines, called recumbent cycles or trikes, are grouped to remind employees that UCSB’s Bike-to-Work Day is on May 21. All who use some form of pedal power to come to campus are invited after work (5 p.m. on the Faculty Club Lawn) to enjoy free food, drinks, and a minitune-up from the A.S. Bike and Skate Shop, said James Wagner, manager of UCSB’s Transportation Alternatives Program. From left, the trikers, who may join the party, are Geoffrey Wallace, Michael Petracca, Dottie McLaren, Bruce Tiffney, and David Lawson.
