Students Approve Parking Lock-in FeeUndergraduate students in last month's campuswide elections approved a new lock-in fee of $3.33 a person a quarter to cover their night and weekend parking charges, which are scheduled to begin on July 1. They also gave the green light to new fees for Arts & Lectures and Office of Student Life programs.
Existing fees were continued for the Shoreline Preservation Fund, University Children's Center, MultiCultural Center, and campus media (Daily Nexus, KCSB-FM), among others.
None of the sports fees managed to muster over 40 percent of the vote, which means there will not be a new NCAA-compliant pool, artificial turf for the fields, or new equipment for the rowing team.
