Candidates Sought for Research Lecturer

Nominations are sought for next year's Faculty Research Lecturer, and they must be submitted, with supporting materials, by Dec. 9.

The Academic Senate selection committee, chaired by geographer Michael Goodchild, asks that nominees be members of the Senate who have "engaged in significant scholarship," though the committee will give "equal consideration to creative activity and traditional research." Eligibility is spelled out at <www.senate.ucsb.edu>.

Besides the usual vita and list of publications or works, the committee would like to see "evidence of broad outside recognition" of the research or work, the announcement said.
