The Disabled Students Office has added a special evacuation chair to its toolkit for emergencies at the Student Affairs and Administrative Services Building. With rotating sets of wheels, emergency personnel can lower a person strapped to the chair down steps with relative ease. With paramedic J.J. Herman seated on the chair, from left fire Capt. Wes Herman, paramedic Joe Bloom, and fireman Vidal Vega demonstrate the process. The rescue unit also has such a chair.
