| “Haitian Youth in Action,” an exhibition of artwork and photographs that includes colorful drawings and portraits of students at Bibliothèque du Soleil in the Haitian capital of Port au Prince, will be on display through May 31 at the Santa Barbara Central Library. The exhibition is presented by the Center for Black Studies Research, the Youth Services division of the Santa Barbara Public Library, and the nonprofit organization Haiti Soleil. A reception and fund-raising event for the exhibit will take place at the Central Library at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19. It is part of Haitian Flag Week, one in a series of events organized annually by the Center for Black Studies Research to promote Haitian history, arts, and culture. The Central Library is located at 40 E. Anapamu St.
